We only charge systems with new refrigerant. Any gas we recover is sent to a specialist company that separates out contamination and re‑purifies it, rather than burning it off. We don’t reuse recovered gas to make an extra dollar or risk long‑term damage to your vehicle.
MAX AC sources refrigerant from reputable suppliers who guarantee 99.9% purity. Not all gas entering New Zealand meets that standard, which is why the EU now tightly controls refrigerant imports to protect consumers and equipment.
It’s worth asking your automotive A/C service provider whether they use new gas, recovered gas, or who supplied it. Recovered or cheap refrigerant carries real risks. We’re not a “top‑up” service either — topping up adds another layer of unknowns and can hide underlying faults.
We will keep your air conditioning system running at MAXimum Performance all year round; cool in the summer months and keeping your windscreen clear in the cooler/damper months.
Regular maintenance of your air conditioning system helps keep the cabin dry and comfortable, which is especially beneficial for allergy sufferers.
Running your car’s air conditioning regularly — even in winter — keeps it healthy and reliable:
❄ Lubricates the System:
Keeps compressor seals and O-rings from drying out and leaking.
❄ Removes Moisture & Demists Windows:
Dehumidifies the cabin and clears foggy windows faster — keeping you safe on the road.
❄ Maintains Compressor Health:
Prevents internal corrosion or seizing from inactivity.
❄ Ready for Summer:
Ensures your AC is performing at its best when the heat returns.
Tip: Run your AC for 10–15 minutes once a week — even with the heater on — to keep your system in top condition.
